I got a day off from babysitting this weekend and we were able to hit Brundage for a full day. I got a two hour lesson from my instructor, Sandy, the best instructor at the place and because of her, I graduated all the green runs that day including all the green runs that come off of Bear Chair (Bear, Griz, and Jammer). I also hit my first blue run that day.
Sandy cleared me for all blue runs except North, Engen, and Sidewinder/Alpine. For my own personal reference, here's a link to the mountain map.
Because of Jury Duty this past week, we weren't able to spend our normal Tuesday/Wednesday at the mountain. Instead, we only did a half day on Wednesday. I spent the whole time practicing going down the Bear runs. My favourite by far is Jammer. Second is Griz, going down Red Fox, and down the third chute of Easy Street (I've yet to go all the way down Griz to the lodge and it kind of looks scary but it probably isn't). And Bear is just a lot of work and a lot of slow turning because it seems steeper to me than Jammer but Jake thinks its in my head because he says Jammer is steeper and Red Fox is definitely the steepest. But I just don't like it. The next time we're heading up is next Wednesday and Thursday.
While I practiced on the Bear runs, Jake hit the terrain park. He nailed three consecutive 360's which he's really excited for. He has a video take from his GoPro helmet mount but its hard to tell what's going on from that perspective so maybe I can get one of him next week.
