Kira Update

Kira starting sleeping on the bed during the last couple of months.

It started on a night I couldn't sleep. And because I was awake, she didn't go to sleep. I don't know why. I don't know if a lot of dogs do this, but she doesn't go to sleep unless I go to sleep.

Instead of staying upstairs with me while I edited pictures until 4 in the morning, she went downstairs to Jake's room.

She whined until he woke up. Once he did, she put her paw on his bed and kept whining. He let her up and they slept scrunched up together on his twin sized bed.

I couldn't sleep the next night either and Kira did the same thing.

Jake couldn't sleep either of these nights because she took up the whole bed, but didn't have the heart to kick her off so we decided she could sleep on my bed by helping her on when I went to bed.

Not going to lie, it was hard to sleep at first because every couple of hours she likes to get up and reposition herself by running in a circle and partially collapsing on me. And because she's more than 100 pounds it kind of hurts!

Jake's moved out of the patio room for the winter and is sleeping on an air mattress beside my bed. We worry Kira's going to jump on top of the air mattress and pop it but it hasn't happened yet.
