Cupcakes for my Brother's Birthday

My schedule on Saturday was kind of crazy. Class from 8-4, baking with my niece from 4:30-6, and then babysitting across town from 6:30-midnight. I didn't know my schedule would look like this until about noon on Saturday. When I came home, I told Jake we wouldn't be able to spend much time together.

"I'm coming with you [to your sister's house]," he said.
But you'll get bored, I told him.
"But its the only way we can spend time with each other today," he said. And so he came and we baked cupcakes with my niece for my brother's birthday.

I think I know why I've been on a cupcake fix lately. I've been craving Lilly Jane's half-baked cupcake. Half-baked cupcakes are only scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays but Lilly Jane's has baker's choice cupcakes where a cupcake may be featured on a day it's not scheduled on. I think I've secretly been hoping to see this cupcake during our visits this week. We made our own version using store bought chocolate cake mix, cookie dough, and this whipped cream frosting recipe. Pictures of the inside of the cupcakes didn't turn out well but they were so good that we're making a new batch later this week.
