Living "simply" and "deliberately"

DSC_0410

On holidays like President's Day, Saver's is half off on clothing, shoes, and accessories. These are the only days we buy clothes. I got all of this stuff plus about 10 books that aren't pictured for $50. Haha, that's how poor we are. We only buy thrift store clothes when they are on clearance. I needed these clothes for student teaching. Clothes in between dressy and casual. Besides for church clothes, the only clothes Jake and I have are those that can fit in a large duffel bag.

I like to think that we're living simply and deliberately, at least how Thoreau defined it in Walden. The more stuff you own, the more it owns you, and that kind of stuff. So we try to live and simply and minimally as we can.
