Like a Lucky Duck

Jake and I celebrated my birthday at Sawadee's on the 7th. It's this little thai place in a strip mall in front of Fred Meyer's. It's my favourite restaurant and I'm not even a huge fan of thai food. I think the sushi chef, Jack, has something to do with it.

A couple years ago I used to come in on a pretty frequent basis to have lunch. I'd come alone and I'd sit up at the sushi bar and Jack would keep me entertained with little sculptures he'd made with food. The guy's a total artist. Here's a couple old shots I took from last year. (I used the same camera I have now. So glad I've gotten so much better from this time last year!) And the dress in that post is the same dress I wore here!

Anyway, Jack and I are still compadres and it was great to see him again...and I totally got spoiled for my birthday.
