My cousin and her family live in the Wood River Valley (Sun Valley, Ketchum, Hailey, Bellevue) where Akbash and Great Pyrenees roam freely protecting sheep from wolves and other predators. They are very familiar with how protective and dangerous these dogs can be when fending their property so when Kira pushed her way in, my cousin's husband asked, "Uh, is this going to be okay," with a terrified look on his face before I could even register what happened.

Kira calmly walked up to the puppies and began sniffing then. They didn't pay much attention to her but when she did, she got scared and tried to hide from them. She is such a scaredy dog. My cousin's husband mentioned that if Kira was raised like the dogs that guard the sheep where they live, she wouldn't be so timid.
Kira's last owners had her for five years and raised her as a companion dog. They adopted her from the pound when she was about a year old. Pretty much the only reason why these working dogs like Kira find their way to the pound when they are puppies is if the wonder off from a farm or fail sheep dog trials. Akbash aren't herding dogs and their sheep dog trials are relatively simple. They usually only fail if they bite a sheep or display cowardly qualities. We've kind of come to the conclusion she was booted from the farm because she's a scaredy dog.

Yay!
Haha, it's my Indonesian nickname. I introduced myself as 'Des' to an Indonesian guy. He thought I said 'Dennis.' My friends all started calling me Dennis. A couple months after, went to the same beach, we were walking to a resto and another man said, "Oooh, you handsome." Hence, Handsome Dennis. I know, it's deceiving but I like it! =)
