Utah (Bucket List #4M, 33M, 68M)

A lot of the items on my Bucket List can be found in Utah. Here are three that we accomplished during our trip. The first photo wouldn't haven't been possible without Jake's help.

Bucket List #4
Bucket List #33
Bucket List #68

Utah is incredibly underrated. It is by far one of the most beautiful and physically diverse states in the country, from the Salt Flats to the Canyonlands, the White Hoodoos to the mountain ranges that made Park City the home of the 2002 Winter Olympics, it's a photographer's dream and paradise for people that love the outdoors like we do.

BOKEH FLOWER WITH BEE

We stayed the night at Antelope Island State Park. This is one of the first photos I took and the first test photo I used for Photoshop, which we just got this week. I used this tutorial that I found on Pinterest to create this photo.

BRIDGER BAY BEACH
RECOLOURED 2-1

We stayed at Bridger Bay campground and swam at Bridger Bay Beach the next morning.

We were off to find the Spiral Jetty, this giant earthwork sculpture from Robert Smithson near Rozel Point later that afternoon. The water is purple-ish/pink due to the high population of brine shrimp in the water. Jake is floating in the water due to the Salt Lake's high salinity. Its at 27% whereas the salinity in the ocean is about 3%.

This is a video Jake took of it:

We stayed the night in Heber City and spent the next day in Park City before going to Midway to swim in the Homestead Resort Cave that I discovered thanks to this picture. We drove to the Bonneville Salt Flats from Midway to photograph and film. While we were there, a Breitling commercial was being filmed with a P-51 Mustang, which is ironically one of Jake's favourite planes. Here are some of the pictures we took of ourselves:

Also, this is a video Jake took for Champion Park's National Night Out Celebration:

We haven't been updating a lot because we recently purchased a pair of kayaks and have been busy paddling around Lake Lowell and the pond at Eagle Island State Park. Our waterproof Olympus died which is why we haven't posted any pictures. This is our second Olympus that has bit the dust. Salt water is really hard on these cameras and they aren't expected to last past two years of heavy use. This one lasted less than one year but I kind of attribute its death to the Salt Lake's high salinity level.

Brilliant photos.
Really enjoyed the spiral jetty ones. And, that homestead resort cave looks amazing. May have to put that on my bucket list as well.
